Things that make you go hmmm

Why do tourists go to the tops of tall buildings then put money into telescopes just
so they can see things on the ground close up?
Why is it called 'after dark' when it really is 'after light'?
Why didn't Noah swat those two mosquitoes?
Why do we sing 'Take me out to the ballgame' when we're already there?
Speaking of ballgames, why are they called stands when they are made for sitting?
Why is a 'wise guy' and a 'wise man' opposites?
How come abbreviated is such a long word?
What do people in China call their good plates?
How do 'Do not walk on the grass' signs get there?
Why does 'Twinkle, twinkle little star' and The 'Alphabet song' have the same tune?
Let me guess... You just sung both songs didn't you?

How pumpkin pie is made...

Aren't these the coolest pumpkins?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Random thoughts

I just love this picture. I can just sit and watch these leaves blow back and forth from this window all day. You know, for whatever reason, I keep thinking of Christmas. I know it's early but it's right around the corner. I mean what other time of the year do you sit in front of a dead tree and eat candy out of your socks?

Hey, don't say I never gave you guys any advice. Here's a good way to handle office conflicts. You'll be surprised at the results...LoL.

I'm just kidding. I don't condone violence but I thought this was too funny. Now, I just have to share these weird pictures with you and before you ask... no... I don't have a pair in my closet.

Surely you don't expect me to wear those!!!

Hmmm... Would you prefer your feet shoes with laces or without?

Wow! Just in time for Halloween.

I know... I know... I've tortured you enough. Of course, now that you've had your fill of awful shoes, it's only fair that I share a much better picture with you. This is simply breath taking.

Quote of the day.

Have a great day everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Little Known Facts

Hello again... Some of you may already know this but I looooove to laugh. I wanted to share a joke with everyone that is soooo hilarious, I guarantee you'll want to read it twice. These are little known facts:

If you yelled for 8 years, 7 months and 6 days you would have produced enough sound energy to heat one cup of coffee.
(Hardly seems worth it.)

If you farted consistently for 6 years and 9 months, enough gas is produced to create the energy of an atomic bomb..
(Now that's more like it !)

The human heart creates enough pressure when it pumps out to the body to squirt blood 30 feet.
(O.M.G.!)

A pig's orgasm lasts 30 minutes.
(In my next life, I want to be a pig..)

A cockroach will live nine days without its head  before it starves to death.    (Creepy.)
(I'm still not over the pig.)

Banging your head against a wall uses 150 calories an hour
(Don't try this at home, maybe at work)

The male praying mantis cannot copulate while its head is attached to its body. The female initiates sex by ripping the male's head off.
(Honey, I'm home. What the...?)

The flea can jump 350 times its body length. It's like a human jumping the length of a football field.
(30 minutes. Lucky pig! Can you imagine?)

The catfish has over 27,000 taste buds.
(What could be so tasty on the bottom of a pond?)

Some lions mate over 50 times a day.
(I still want to be a pig in my next life...quality over quantity)

Butterflies taste with their feet.
(Something I always wanted to know.)

The strongest muscle in the body is the tongue.
(Hmmmmmm.......)

Right-handed people live, on average, nine years longer than left-handed people.
(If you're ambidextrous, do you split the difference?)

Elephants are the only animals that cannot jump.
(Okay, so that would be a good thing)
A cat's urine glows under a black light..
(I wonder how much the government paid to figure that out.)

An ostrich's eye is bigger than its brain.
(I know some people like that.)

Starfish have no brains
(I know some people like that too.)

Polar bears are left-handed.
(If they switch, they'll live a lot longer)

Humans and dolphins are the only species that have sex for pleasure.
(What about that pig??, Do the dolphins know about the pig?)

See, I knew it would put a smile on your face.
(and God love that pig!)

I truly hope that noone was offended by this posting. I am going through something right now and laughter is one of the ways I'm able to handle things better. When they say that laughter is good medicine, it's no joke. Laughter strengthens your immune system, boosts your energy, diminishes pain and protects you from the damaging effects of stress. When laughter is shared, it has a domino effect because it's simply contagious. So, my work here is done. Thanks for visiting. Have a great day!

Morning Glory Muffins

Hello again. You know, rainy days always make me want to bake something yummy. I was in the mood for some morning glory muffins. I found this recipe from Better Homes and Gardens years ago and it's become one of my favorite muffin recipes. The first time I made them, I wasn't sure if the children would try them because of all the carrots and apples in the recipe but I was wrong. The muffins turned out to be so good and sweet. Once the family realized how delicious they were, they didn't last long at all. Hint, hint... This is also a really great way to sneak in extra fruits and vegetables for picky eaters.

Morning Glory Muffins

 Morning Glory Muffins

2 cups of all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cups packed brown sugar
2 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped
1 1/4 cups finely shredded carrots
1/2 cup raisins
1 8-ounce can crushed pineapple (juice pack)
undrained
2/3 cup cooking oil
3 eggs
1/2 teapoon vanilla

Directions:

Line twenty four 2 1/2 inch muffin cups with paper bake cups; set aside.

In a large bowl combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; stir in
brown sugar. Stir in apples, carrots, and raisins. In In a medium bowl
combine undrained pineapple, oil, eggs and vanilla. Add pineapple
mixture to flour mixture; stir just until moistened.

Spoon batter into prepared muffin cups. Bake in a 375 degree oven
about 18 minutes or until a wooden tothpick inserted in centers comes
out clean. Cool in muffin cups on wire rack for 5 minutes. Remove from
muffin cups; serve warm.

Makes 24 muffins. Enjoy...

Thanks for stopping by... Until next time.
